I’m Charlie, semi-responsible mama to two (one furry, one thankfully not) and occasionally very responsible inducer of sleep and remover of pain in my role as an anaesthetic and intensive care doctor. After graduating from Oxford Medical school and following a spell working as a doctor in Australia, my little family has now put down roots in South West London.
On my last day at work before maternity leave I helped four wonderful mothers bring their little bundles into the world and then it was my turn to be on the other side! All the medical knowledge in the world can’t fully prepare you for the feeling of taking home your own baby but it certainly helped during pregnancy and the birth. With my wonderful colleague and friend Maddie, we’re here to unscramble and decode what anaesthetists actually do and how we can help you have the best birth experience possible.
