Dr Emma Svanberg (a.k.a. The Mumologist) is a clinical psychologist working in private practice in North London. Emma specialises in the perinatal period, working with parents and parents-to-be to support them during pregnancy, birth and the early years. Becoming a parent can be a turbulent time, one of joy and excitement but also bringing new challenges and raising old issues. She works with couples to help them adjust to this transition and prepare for parenthood, sees individuals to explore mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, bonding difficulties and relationship problems, and runs local groups to support parents and create a parenting community. Psychology is an evidence-based practice, and Emma uses models such as brief psychodynamic approaches, systemic therapy, cognitive behavioural theory and attachment theory to inform her practice. She writes regularly about themes which arise during this time, and her first book will be published later this year.
She is happy to answer specific questions you have, so feel free to get in touch with her at firstname.lastname@example.org
